Tignes ski resort is located in the French Alps and is part of the Espace Killy ski area which offers more than 300 km of slopes.
You can reach Tignes ski area from La Daille via the chair lift Tommeuses. You don’t have to rush in the morning, as it only opens little later. When you reach the top via the chair lift you can either decent towards Val Claret or go via the black slope directly towards Tignes. Don’t worry, the black slope is a gentle black one in our opinion. The last part of the slope is extremely steep but it’s followed by a flat part so you can easily reduce your speed. If you want to ski above 100 km/h this is the perfect spot to do so. However, please be careful.
When you ski further towards the end of the area, you’ll reach Tignes 1550. Make sure to pause when you reach Lake du Chevril because the view is really magnificient. As it’s really at the end of the area, it’s not that crowded around Tignes 1550. As it’s way lower, it’s the perfect location to have a lunch outside in the sun. The only downside is that later on the day, when it’s really warm, the snow quality can be less. But not to an extent that is was a problem during our visit. From Tignes 1550 it will take you 3 lifts to get back.
