Passo Dello Stelvio - Bike for charity
2013 – There was an initiative to get more awareness around and to raise funds for diabetes. The organisation set up an event where people with diabetes would climb the Stelvio with their bike. Other people could join to support and we and two friends decided to subscribe to this event and go and climb this marvelous mountain which got extra fame back in Belgium when Thomas De Gendt won the stage in the Giro of 2012 with finish on top of the Stelvio.
On our way towards Bormio we passed Reschensee (Lago di Resia) which is a famous artificial lake for the steeple of a submerged 14th-century church

Biking
Before I bought my Garmin bike computer in august 2013 I tracked my rides with the a tracking application on my phone. As that one often crashed or malfunctioned I don’t have the GPX tracks of those rides. Only one ride worked out fine. But we had some others back then
- Lago di Cancano & Bormio 2000 (104 km)
- Mortirollo Passo & dello Gavia
The day of the official climb it was a sunny day and these were the results
- Tom 1:52:02 which was 449 out of 2166.
- Marie-Claire 2:22:39 which was 1454 out of 2166 and 66 out of 164 woman.

Livigno
The day after the party we wanted an easy day and decided to go to visit Livigno. Back then we never thought that we would ever come back here to ski, but in 2018 it happened anyway. It is less than an hour drive and approximately 40 km. Before heading to the village we had some rest in a meadow and enjoyed the sun and continued recovering from the party of yesterday. Later on we continued our journey and visited the city where we admired some car during an old timer contest. After wandering around and shopping a bit we went for a pizza in a local restaurant. Here we learned that Livigno was tax free and we bought some liquor at extreme low prices.
We stayed in this 3 star hotel which was located near the center. The room had everything we needed and the breakfast was good. Not much time spent in the hotel during our visit.
